Pastor Randy Starr and his wife, Shirley were born and raised in Ohio and graduated from Montpelier High School. Both received Christ as children. Randy gained assurance of his salvation as a teen while Shirley did as a young woman in her 20's. Pastor Starr graduated from Bowling Green State University in BG, OH with a Bachelor's Degree and later from Bob Jones University with a Master's Degree. Shirley and Randy married in 1972. He was called to the ministry on the first day of 1973. After 14 1/2 years as a full-time Assistant Pastor at Harvest Baptist Temple in Clyde Ohio, Pastor Starr moved to Brogue in December, 1990 to become Mt Zion's 6th Pastor.
